Code cleanup duties are assigned to the 16-member Unified Development Code Advisory Committee – the Code Cleanup Crew. Representation includes seven community members, the Salem Planning Commission, plus two representatives from City Council.

Meeting Information
The Committee meets regularly on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the City Council chambers. Committee meetings are open to the public and community members are encouraged to attend.

The City of Salem is looking for code users and other volunteers to help with the cleanup.
- Sign up for updates on the code cleanup.
- Submit your ideas in the “Suggestion Box” for improving Salem’s code.
- Review and provide feedback on new sections of the updated Unified Development Code as they become available.
